Dave and Fran DiFerdinando founded Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shakes in 1981, inspired by the legendary fries on the world-famous Ocean City Boardwalk in Maryland. Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shakes invokes memories of summer on the Boardwalk. The brothers, like many other vacationers, had vacationed there as children. They had the idea to make those famous fries accessible to everyone around the United States of America, not just those at the beach; the rest is history.
Residents of Waterloo are in for a treat as they will be able to enjoy the legendary ocean city Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shakes in their hometown. After serving the legendary fries, shakes, and burgers in different cities, Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shakes opened its first Canadian location in 2014. Other than fries, the customers will be getting the fresh, never frozen hand-made burgers, creamy Canadian dairy shakes, sweet potato fries, poutine, veggie burgers, chicken options and so much more! Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shakes has over 14 stores across Canada, with about five new locations to be opened by the end of 2021.
Mohan Dias and Prasad Dias will manage the new Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shakes location in Waterloo. The two brothers have over 18 years of combined general management experience spanning six different countries. The franchise owners have high hopes for the growth of Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shakes in the area. According to Mohan, “I would like to provide more value to the patrons than I receive as payment for their orders. In general, I would like to get involved with the community in charitable events and other related events that gives us the opportunity to give back to Waterloo.”
